An individual who has mastered the true art of astral manipulation, arcanum - on par with the science used by the terran races - is a rarity. These powerful spellcasters can assert control over the terran gods and even create such creatures themselves. An arcanist is a rare and dangerous thing, most hide in the background as powerless simpletons.

The only noteworthy arcanist in modern history was the monk Mikado - ORyu's mentor, the creator of the Nyue-bo, and the origin of the Cho Monks.
