Genhe
Male kakkarin, born 1017, Cho monk
hair: orange-brown, eyes: yellow.
A Cho monk who was given the mission of finding and protecting the "Five Dragon Circle"; reincarnations of the great hero O'Ryu. Physically, Genhe is an oddity even among his own kind - having beast characteristics that are even more pronounced than the rest of his kind. Genhe's personality is as opposed to his bestial appearance as possible - being a wise and gentle soul.
As a Cho monk; Genhe's powers lie in the realm of elemental manipulation: He has a wide variety of spells at his disposal, though they rarely have the ability to affect living objects. The Monk is also highly educated in supernatural forces, political groups, and geography; in many ways he serves as the group's advisor and guide. Genhe can also create special talismen that can increase the power of a spell through physical contact.
My original idea for the monk was that he would look more feral and intimidating, and would be this kind of gentle giant character. After a while I decided I needed someone to add a bit of light humor to the story - and I was also looking to make Genhe appear closer to his age. After a few doodles and watching lots of kung-fu movies, I finally decided on the current nonsense-speaking sleek housecat version of Genhe that is in the story. Of all my characters, I like writing for Genhe the most - he can say incredibly insightful things and still sound like a poorly translated fortune cookie.
